Penalty areas do not have to have water to be marked as such.

  • The tournament committee or the course pro is free to mark the course, as each deems appropriate.
  • You can play your ball that lies within a penalty area just as you would if it were in the general area of the course in that you can ground your club and you can move loose impediments and movable obstructions.

OLD BUSINESS:

    1. The City's MOU.
  • Still no response from the City to our last communication
  • The City has asked for some clarification and has related some design requests
    2. The Clock
  • They wanted to know if the clock will be 2 or 4 faced. It will be 2 faced as befits the City.
  • They want to know how high the clock will stand. This depends on where it is to be placed. Some members of the Board are under the impression that the clock is to be placed on the ground outside the corner of the patio while others think it will be installed on the corner of the patio itself. If it is to be placed on the ground it will have to be considerably taller than if placed on the patio
  • The cost is approximately $7,00.00 disassembled. The City would have to commit to assembling the clock as well as installing it.
  • Motion made by Derek to set aside $7,000.00 dollars from the treasury for the purchase of the clock. The motion was seconded by Dave. The motion passed unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS:

    1. Doug Barr's Santa Claus mission
  • Doug gave the Board a brief history and description of his and others participation that have collected money for the Greens staff and the pro-shop staff over the last 10 or more years.
  • He also told us how the funds are collected and distributed
  • Doug is no longer able to carry out these activities due to family obligations.
  • One member has volunteered to do some of the collecting but wants help.
  • It was suggested that we on the Board recruit a committee to carry on Doug's work.
  • This committee would take turns driving the course during the Wednesday and Friday tournaments in November and December.
  • They would have the benefit of using the inventory of materials Doug as collected for use in this endeavor; a locked box, envelopes, posters and other things.
  • Doug usually collects between $7,500.00 & $8,000.00 each year.
  • 3. Tees for members 80 years of age and older
  • Frank made the suggestion that those members 80 years of age and older be allowed to play from the forward (Gold) tees in tournaments. Many members of this age have trouble reaching the green from the white tees.
  • There was discussion as to whether or not this would be voluntary.
  • It was decided to poll those of the age under discussion via e-mail.
  • Dave to send an email blast to those 80 and over.

ADJOURNMENT:

MOTION: There being no further business a motion to adjourn was made by Frank, seconded by Derek at 5:40 pm. Motion passed.

Next meeting is scheduled for October 12th, 2021.

Respectfully Submitted,
David Hamdorf for

Steve Rose
Secretary
